Foster Kids Wish Lists / Sanguine Ranch

Help Us Deliver Joy –

Every year, we receive a wish list for foster kids and foster families in our area.  These requests typically come from the local Departments of Social Services, but not always.  There are certain cases that are brought to our attention from other sources, dire situations that normally involve children.  Your support allows us to respond quickly and generously.  Know that you are making a difference!  Let me share two examples…

I was contacted by someone working with a mother fleeing an abusive situation, but with three small children, she couldn’t support them without daycare.  Hope is Everything paid for several months of daycare for all three children, offering the mom a chance to get back on her feet.  She’s now working full-time and, with family support, is on a path to becoming financially independent.

We recently were able to help out a family in need during the Thanksgiving holiday. The father is currently incarcerated and the mother and children are doing everything possible to stay above water.  In response, we were able to provide a much-needed gift card to provide a Thanksgiving meal, and basic necessities.  I’m told when she received the card, she just broke down and cried.  By God’s grace, hope had arrived.

Sanguine Ranch –

Hope Is Everything is excited to introduce a new and exciting opportunity to collaborate with Sanguine Ranch, a stunning 32-acre property nestled in Fork Union, in the southern part of Fluvanna County. While the ranch is still in its developmental stages, we are already witnessing its transformation into a vibrant space. Recently, we completed the construction of a road leading to the ranch from James Madison Highway, which set the stage for an inspiring volunteer workday dedicated to building the initial phase of the horse stables.

Our partnership will focus on supporting local high school-aged foster kids as they cope with their trauma.  With the help of local organizations like Elk Hill School, we aim to invite some of these young people to the ranch for experiences that will be truly transformative, including:

  • Spending a night outdoors by a campfire, experiencing life like a cowboy
  • Cooking over an open fire
  • Engaging with horses
  • Riding along scenic trails
  • Learning stable care tasks, among other activities.

We plan to utilize equine therapy and the beauty of the outdoors to connect with young people whom some might consider unreachable.  At the end of the camp, every participant will receive their very own cowboy hat, symbolizing their journey with us.  Just imagine the positive impact this program could have both in the short and long term!

We are excited to bring this vision to life by early summer 2026.  If you’re interested in participating, partnering, or getting involved in any way, please reach out to me at the email or phone number below.
